Research Interests: Thermodynamics and kinetics of phase transformations in ferroelectric, ferromagnetic, and shape memory thin films and multilayer heterostructures. Effect of internal stresses on the structural and physical properties of constrained functional films. Functionally graded smart materials. Phase transformations in multiferroic systems. Defect microstructures in ferroic materials Tunable materials for microwave telecommunication devices. Pyroelectric materials for IR detection. Electrocaloric materials for on-chip cooling. Conducting oxides and conducting oxide thin films. Thin film deposition (pulsed laser deposition and spin coating) of ferroic materials and conducting oxides.
