Personal Information:
Dr. Syam P. Nukavarapu received Ph.D in Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Science, India. He later held post doctoral positions at the Materials Science & Engineering, Lehigh University, and the Orthopedic Surgery, University of Virginia. Recently, Dr. Nukavarapu joined the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut as an Assistant Professor and holds a joint appointment in the department of Chemical, Materials & Biomolecular Engineering (CBME). He has peer reviewed journal articles and book contributions on the fabrication and in vitro, in vivo evaluation of biodegradable scaffolds for bone tissue engineering applications. He is a member of the various professional societies and also has been acting as a reviewer for a number of journals in the field of Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering and Biomedical Nanotechnology.
