George Rossetti, Jr.
Dr. George A. Rossetti, Jr., is an Associate Professor in the Materials Science & Engineering Program. He received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M.S. in Materials Engineering, both from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He earned his Ph.D. in Solid State Science from The Pennsylvania State University and was a post-doctoral research associate at Princeton University. He joined UConn in 2006 as a research professor in the Institute of Materials Science. He previously was an associate research professor working in the Center for Ceramic Research at Rutgers University. His research concentrates on structure-processing-property relations in electroceramic materials. Current research projects focus on the thermodynamic theory, reactive processing, microstructure evolution, and physical properties of dielectric, piezoelectric and ferroelectric materials and their applications in sensing, actuation, energy transduction and storage, and active structural / precision motion control systems.
