Minors

This minor provides a firm basis for understanding the relationships between the
structure of all classes of materials, the processing conditions, and the properties
of these materials that are critical to science and engineering. It requires the
completion of 16 credits including the following:

  • An approved Plan of Study
  • MSE 2001 (or 2101), 2002, and 2053 (or 3152)
  • 9 credits selected from MSE 3000-level courses, MSE 4000-level courses
(but not more than 3 credits of independent study or directed research); BME
    3700, and BME 4701.

The minor is offered by the Materials Science and Engineering Program of the
Chemical, Materials, and Biomolecular Engineering Department. For more
information, contact Dr. R. Ramprasad (860) 486-4102 or rampi@ims.uconn.edu.
